Birth to age 5
Our Mixed-age Class gives children the environment they need to grow musically while interacting both socially and musically with peers of different ages. Children from birth to age 5 all participate at their own levels—singing, moving, listening, observing, and exploring musical instruments in a welcoming and supportive environment. Also check out our Generations program (below), also for babies to age 5.
Birth to eight months (when semester begins)
You and your baby will share activities that have been carefully developed for our youngest students. You'll learn about how children develop musically and how you can support that development in your own baby. You'll discover new ways of interacting with your baby that are deeply pleasurable for both of you, and you'll discover how profoundly satisfying it can be to bond with your infant musically.
First Sunday of the month at 4:30 pm, included in membership for enrolled families. These are awesome, party classes, with two or more teachers, lots of families, extra use of props, favorite songs and activities from our regular collections.
In Rhythm Kids® classes, students explore rhythm by playing with music from around the world. Music Together®®–trained teachers lead dynamic classroom activities designed especially for early elementary students/preschoolers, and the discovery continues at home with the interactive Rhythm Kids videos, easily viewable on our app. As they drum, sing, and move to new rhythms, children naturally build musicality that helps them prepare for formal music lessons. Opportunities to solo, work in ensembles, and improvise support social and listening skills, self-expression, and self-confidence.
This will run as a drop-off class in spring 2019. Parents may stay and participate with children who need it.
Birth to age five
mixed-age Music Together class held in a skilled nursing facility with a circle of "grandfriends" around us. This is a mixed-age class held in an elder care facility. In senior residential and day programs across the country, people of all ages come together to sing, dance, shake shakers, and swing scarves during weekly Music Together intergenerational classes.
Drop in with your kids when they need to move and interact! We have a variety of gross motor play equipment for them to tumble, climb and build. Dance parties, too!!
