Our Classes

Mixed-Age

Birth to age 5

Our Mixed-age Class gives children the environment they need to grow musically while interacting both socially and musically with peers of different ages. Children from birth to age 5 all participate at their own levels—singing, moving, listening, observing, and exploring musical instruments in a welcoming and supportive environment. Also check out our Generations program (below), also for babies to age 5.

Babies

Birth to eight months (when semester begins)

You and your baby will share activities that have been carefully developed for our youngest students. You'll learn about how children develop musically and how you can support that development in your own baby. You'll discover new ways of interacting with your baby that are deeply pleasurable for both of you, and you'll discover how profoundly satisfying it can be to bond with your infant musically.

Generations

Birth to age five

mixed-age Music Together® class held in a skilled nursing facility with a circle of "grandfriends" around us. This is a mixed-age class held in an elder care facility. In senior residential and day programs across the country, people of all ages come together to sing, dance, shake shakers, and swing scarves during weekly Music Together intergenerational classes.

Pre-Rhythm Kids / Rhythm Kids

Ages 4-5 (pre-Rhythm Kids), K-2 (Rhythm Kids)

drop off or stay and join us for this exciting music, movement, and drumming class where children integrate and assimilate rhythm into their lives. Your child will sing, dance, move, drum, and play to songs and beats from around the world.

Rhythm Kids (K-2) classes are a great complement to formal instruction on an instrument, or a way to help your child achieve Basic Music Competence in preparation for formal instrument lessons. Our classes are fun, playful and relaxed. Children need to have a Djembe--we have them available for purchase at cost, or you can buy and bring your own. (You can borrow a Djembe for a free trial class!)

preRhythm Kids (ages 4-5) Djembe purchase isn't necessary. A younger sibling may attend with parent participant in class, just register as a sibling.

* This class is not offered currently, please contact us if you'd be interested in starting a Rhythm Kids class *
